Utah!

they are all adorable.
Is that the little EE we hatched? It has really grown up.

I think that little polish is very cute. Looks alot more girly than the elvis's did.

Good news...Phoenix found 3 eggs in the nest box today, all hard shells....Maybe they have figured it out!

I can bring you a bigger sizzle if you want when I come Sunday, Or I can bring you a big tough Olive egger that looks like a chipmunk

I am just sitting on the couch chillin .  i am talking to a guy named Gary from Texas He has cream legbar chicks and has offered to bring them to me tomorrow and he is coming to Utah to visit family.  Does anyone else want some chicks
i got a message from him too. sadly i can not have any more chickens or i would jump on it. did he say how much he wants for them?

Blujems, glad you like your new Marans baby. I am so dang excited I cannot wait for these guys to start laying. I hope your trio makes it through winter and there are some good fertile eggs for more babies! Good job on the Cuckoo's, glad they are kicking it into gear! What kind of brown are you getting? I missed seeing you today too. Will get out there again soon :) I gotta get my goat fix lol!

Red, I agree, the EE had some trademark shoulders starting. Much deeper than the usual orange. (sigh)

Sundance you make me laugh how hard you want to get a sizzle in my flock lol! I really really think those are cute but the only ornamentals I really will keep is the Polish. And the showgirl is my exception---because they are crossed with the turkens there is a lot less broodiness going on and a bit better laying from what I have read. I love the way the silkies look but had a bad experience with a crazy broody and am happy to have the break from that :) I have more chickens than I should, I better pass. I have a small list of the two or three I want next Spring that will be on my to do list :) Unless something happens to the ones I have anyway (knocking on wood!) I really have more out there than I should. Phoenix can attest to that, he came to pick up Blujems Marans today and he was like "whoa"! Trying not to get the hammer out again lol.. I still will need to pick and choose and narrow it down just a few before winter.

Don't ya hate it when the site goes down mid-message!?

Okay my neighbor traded chickens tonight, but I'm wondering if this really is a girl? Sorry for the blurry cell phone pics.

Beautiful bird but I have concerns about gender...I posted on the gender board as well but I thought I'd cross post here just in case. :)

Sundance, hope you get the font thing figured out. It seems like I've heard what kimmy pie said working. Congrats on gettingvlegbars. Glad I'm out of town so I can't succumb to the temptation of a couple legbar pullets.
Cynthia, your chicks are so cute! I love them! Are these your winning eggs? Didn't that batch have two fbcm or am I senile?
We spent 6 hours hiking the narrows today. My kids were such troopers. 5 year old didn't ask to be carried until we were 100 feet from camp. Got some great pictures.

You can succomb He isn't going to be here until Sat and I can bring them to you on Sunday

Here are eggs I gathered today. I was so excited, I got a pink egg. Far left It is beautiful. !!!!!!!!!!!!

Maude the red sex link lays the big dark egg, EE Hedwig and Americana lave lay blue, Bard rock stripes lay brown, wyandot rebecca lays brown and the three bantams laid the smaller. I am in love with Maudes eggs Can't wait for the bcm girls and the olive eggs

Wow Sundance, nice looking eggs. Is the lav A. the one I sold you? She lays a pretty blue egg? Who laid the pink egg? It really is a pretty color.

kimmy...I can see your concern..what are they saying on the other thread?

No one has answered my other thread since I updated the pics. I don't want to bump it again though because I don't think we are supposed to do that right?

The thread is here https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/665313/blrw-gender-update-with-new-pics/20#post_9399303 I won't be offended if everyone agrees with it being a cockerel, I'm kind of thinking that myself. I feel like I'm beating a dead horse by bringing it up again since before they told me it was a boy then my neighbor just swears it was laying eggs! So I'm not sure what to think. From my basic understanding of saddle feathers I think that's what I see. And like I said in my thread I think he tried to mount one of my girls as soon as he got in the pen. So if this is a boy I'm just going to have 7 chickens, I don't like to keep interrupting flock dynamics. If we want to add more next year I hope one of them will go broody and I can stick some eggs or chicks under her to let her raise in with the others...

Hi everyone.

Excuse me interrupting, but tonight's the last night to follow the link below and help BYC choose the color for our historic home. We want to make sure its one folks will like, so naturally I'm inviting the best people I know to help decide......
