Kim, it would take more in the winter. I just started getting this mash in the cans this year...so, it will be my first winter feeding them mash all of the time. Guess I will see, but it's still cheaper than buying it in a bag. A lot cheaper.

All of these babies went today..except, for my polish..it can sing pretty loud. I brought her in, she is pretty lonely. But, I have those mystery chicks in lock down tomorrow...crossing fingers for a good hatch, and, that the polish will be nice and happy about new babies, she still looks small, but she has grown. She is getting her tail already. Still waiting for a funny little hair do on top to start. It is mostly a high vault that I am still seeing.Ok, trying again, picture of my cans of feed.
Like I said, I use the metal cans to keep the mice out.
My mash, looks like I have about 3 weeks left in there since it's summer.
My scratch will last a while longer since it's summer too
This is medicated baby food..Scott was just getting ready to put in some non medicated in with it..only we keep it in the bag so it's separate..just set it on top of the baby food.
For some reason this is blurry, my pellets, I get that in a bag.
Just for fun, my babies out in the new run at the end of the coop that Scott just put together. In here in the day, back to the nursery at night.
A picture of my Polish here..Looks like a barred, or cuckoo?
Not sure about the brown on the face, but it's cute. Sweet little babies. The blacks should lay a dark brown, or lay that dark green egg. They have the daddy Maran in them.
I am not sure whether to be excited or scared, but I just candled my eggs. I figure they're about 72 hours in, and I saw definite veining in 4 of the 7. I think it's way to early to toss the others, but it was kind of exciting.
I missed the part where it was explained why the plastic ones were bad? I have a plastic garbage can that I use to store my shavings for the coops, and they've held up beautifully to the elements.
