Utah!

What an exciting day for your family, Cynthia. :) Speaking of going to the temple, is anyone going to be doing an open house tour of the new Brigham temple? We have tickets for the last day. My parents will be here visiting again from Wisconsin. We'll have a family group of 23 going together.

Sphinx, if I had seen your post earlier, I would have made arrangements to meet you while you were in Logan. I sure hope they get answers for you soon, you must be going crazy!

Red, cute picture. :)

Lisa, good luck figuring out your mystery layer! I have two girls squatting like crazy now, totally digging the back scratches.

One of my cochins, and my SLW. The SLW was pecking at the oyster shell today, too. :)

I am going to be heading to Salt lake here next month and was wondering who I could visit along the way that has birds? I am coming from basically the Boise Idaho area.....

Still can't figure out who is doing it! :barnie

I am spending my every waking moment going out there... back and forth, pacing to the coop. Then I go out and there is the egg. I think it is the FBCM i got at Chickenstock in Idaho, but not sure....it is too funny how sneaky this one is.

Sasha hope you get the job! That would be a fun one. Too bad they don't sell/participate too much in the "chickens for pets" program. They should, as many people that are getting them these days. I my neighborhood out of 26 houses there are 7 with chickens.

Idahobird, there are lots on here with chicks coming up for sale if you are looking, we have a lot of ahem....."hatchaholics"......haha on this thread.

Cynthia, I have been watching these chicks closely, and I am so sure one of the Black crested white is a boy. I will eat my hat if it is not male. He has the whole typical rooster attitude going on, so funny! Of all the others, I have my guess ready. Probably wrong, but it is fun to see if you can get it right. The SL polish all look female, the Buff laced both look male, and one of each on the BCW. What are you thinking about yours, do you think you have some girlies? I really hope that buff with the big muffs and beard ends up a girl. That one is my favorite....

Sasha, I would've LOVED to have met you. I have to admit I was really in a rush yesterday. As it was, I was a half hour late to a dinner party. Whoops! If you'd seen the post, I guess I would've just been an hour late. Ha ha ha!

Brad, if it turns out I don't have a chicken leper colony, I can give you fertile eggs whenever you want. They'd be mutts, but free. :)

Idahobird, I'd love to meet you. I'm in Davis County, and about 5-10 min from I-15, so an easy stop.

Do any of you know if it's possible for cows to have allergies? I swear my calves look like they're allergic right now with watery eyes.

Sphinx, I was reading a post from seminolewind....she sells fertile eggs and has had mareks in her flock. Mareks does not transfer to the eggs so eggs are good for sure. Hoping it is NOT that, it sounds like probably not thank goodness. She has tons of info on the disease, you can find links in her siggie.

Would the watery eyes be from the recent smoke? I have not heard of cow allergies, but not been around them alot. How is that litttle one doing? You should keep us posted on her with pics. Still cannot get over the heart shaped blotches, how sweet! :love

Any eggs this morning Red? :ya

Sphinx YAY good news. My Turkin isn't doing well but I'm wondering if it has to do with her eggs. She was laying daily before she was hurt and hasn't laid since. Just heard from my friends dad in Oklahoma. Geese are doing fine. They are in an acre pasture that is enclosed and has the barn in it. He hasn't let them out where his ponds are so he bought them a swimming pool that he fills and emptys daily. He said the only problem he has had with them is that when he changes pastures with his calves they have to go through the small pasture. The geese chase the calves because they are intruders you know. He hopes they will get use to the calves coming and going and leave them alone. He is really enjoying them and they have become quite friendly to him.
