Utter Quail Newbie - Hatching Questions!

I would wait until they were "fluffy". When they first hatch, they look like they have just been slimed on one of those shows on "Nic at Nite". After 2 or 3 hours, their feathers will dry off and get "fluffy". Here is a link for brooding your chicks.

Final Update on this Hatch: 4 made it, 1 was too weak to get out of his own shell (he pipped it and began to unzip it but didn't get out), but I helped him (I know, I know) and he lived 3 days. 1 was fully formed in shell but failed to hatch. 1 egg was entirely empty (just air). 5 were yolks (no blood in them, just yolks?).

Ordered the next batch to go in the bator. Can't wait! I'm loving watching these itty bitties grow!
