VA, WV, PA, MD Chickenstock 2008

11 is fine also with me, but I may be arriving a little closer to 12!

BTW I brought up an aerial view of the comfort inn. Which side of the parking lot is the park? I see to the left of the comfort in of what looks like a grave yard (beyond a bunch of trees). Can anyone clarify this?

I'm not happy about this for a number of reasons, but I'm not going to make it afterall.

My grandmother passed away a few weeks ago and we're taking her ashes up to New Hampshire on the 15th.

I'm really sorry guys. Next year.

Denyse, if you're little pullet doesn't find a home, I'll drive over and pick her up when I get home.

Mark

Oh boo hiss, Mark!!! Sorry about your grandma and sad you won't be at CS. I had to miss the first two years for unavoidable reasons too. Should we ALL check in now, if we're coming, and also add to our names what we are planning to bring for food? I'll start:

Birdlover (Ellen): dessert and paper products

Next??

peacebird here! Hubby and I will bring something to grill, plus corn&bean salad, and devilled eggs to share!

We're still looking to adopt girls for poor Mario - so if anyone has a girl or two to spare we'ld be glad to take them off your hands... (& pay for them of course!)

Are folks going to bring stuff to sell or swap? If someone had a spare cage, waterer or other stuff they want to sell we would be interested! I'll try to get my photos of Mario printed so you can see him - he is a pretty fellow, loads of personality!

Hey all, I've been away for a few days and missed out on a lot, so I'm just now catching up.
First of all, MarkR so sorry to hear of of your grandmother's passing,

.
We will miss you, but I'm sure we'll get a chance to meet at another future Chickenstock!
And by the way, when I returned home today, that little extra pullet I had to bring for you?...was crowing!!!!!

What a surprise...he'll find a good home soon.
Azulegg, the park is squeezed between the Comfort Inn and the cementary. It is really small! You don't really see the cementary from the park though, so it's not creepy or anything like that!

birdlover, great idea! Everyone just cut and paste the following and add your name and what food you are bringing for the day!

Birdlover (Ellen): dessert and paper products
mudhen(Denise): old-fashioned potato salad
grill for all to share and ice
xtra feeders, mini brooder, ect, for sell or swap

I may have to bring hot dogs and rolls as my DD only likes to eat those.

Is anyone interested in any house plants or flowers? I can bring any of these as I have too many. I will be putting up for sale:

Hibiscus (spelling?)
tomato plants (25 cents each)
Vindca
Elephant ear
geraniums
Calla lilly (have approx. 10 of these)
and numerous other flowers

let me know.

Is there a port-a-pot there? Just want to know since my DD always has to go!

Will there be a sign out on the road indicating a CS? (might bring in people who are looking for chickens or hatching eggs etc).

Also, I have these other plants available if anyone is interested:

Climbing Hydrangea
Bergenia Cillianta (Easter Joy)
Holly
Sweet Carolina - green variety
Dusty Miller
Chicago Luster

I don't have a whole lot of room in the back of my tahoe so if anyone is especially interested in something let me know!
