Hi there! I currently have 2 chickens with bumblefoot. I’ve been doing typical care and re-bandaging their feet every 2-3 days. We are about to go on vacation for a full week, so my question is can I leave the foot bandages on for a full week (after a fresh change the morning when we leave) and not have to worry about them? Our neighbor is kindly watching our flock, but I know he won’t be able to change their bandages every 2-3 days while we are gone. Feet will be treated, cleaned with Vetricyn, and bandaged with VetWrap and non-stick gauze with Neosporin (non-pain killer).
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Curious how deep the wounds may be.
Did you do 'surgery' and cut out the bumble or just treat topically?

Thank you @rosemarythyme !

@aart I am treating topically with Tricide Neo soaks. I’ve been bandaging because they both had some cuts on their feet as well, but those have pretty much healed. I don’t want to do surgery on these 2 hens since I’ve completed multiple failed surgeries on another hen, and didn’t see any improvement.

I'd just leave them un-bandaged while you are away.
How long have you been treating....can they get around OK??
I’ll plan to leave the bandages off.
The younger (6-month old) EE hen gets around fine.
My 3-yr old Barred Rock is limping on her one foot (foot pad is swollen but I peeled off the black scab for the first time last night), but can still get around, just slowly.
Been treating the EE for 2 weeks and been treating the BR for almost 4 weeks.
