VACATION????? HELP!!!

Hi cgrn, I'm located at the Jersey Shore, in Brick to be exact. Too far from you, but I let my chickens have access to their run from the coop so they can get out and stretch their legs in the morning. Then I collect eggs, usually before 8:00 am. I have hardware cloth under the run and attached securely to run. I have had no predators (YET). I chain lock the doors to the run. I would be surprised if anything got in, but I worry, so I always check. Good luck, you should find a friendly chicken person to help you out, so you can have a relaxing, fun vacation without worries!

I don't lock my chicken house at night. I used to, but got out of the habit, and haven't had any trouble. My brother who lives three miles away has several chickens killed everytime he leaves the coop open at night, though, so it depends on your location.
You're going to Cape Cod?? That's one of the best places in the world!! Want to take me with you? : )
We used to go up there every summer to see my granfather, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. Where on Cape Cod will you be?We went to West Falmouth.
Boating, swimming, crabbing, lobstering, tailgating nuns (when my brother was driving), goob-tubing at night, and shocking the over-civilized yankees in every way possible. Best vacation imaginable!
