So - I'm leaving town for a few days (Fri-Sun). My two ducks have a 4 x 10 predator proof pen that they stay in at night. It has an XL Dogloo at one end and a large cat box of water at the other. The cat box is big enough for one duck at a time to get into. Normally they free range (1/2 acre fenced yard with a 30" diameter kiddie pool) but they are a pain to get back into the pen - definitely a 2 person job. They are only about 5 or 6 weeks old.

So here's my question - I have a duck sitter coming in. I definitely don't want the ducks out because I don't want my sitter to have to worry about putting them back up and I really don't want them out all day with no one home. So - should I keep the same set up and just have the sitter feed and water them and change the water in their "kitty box pool"? Should I put the kiddie pool in there with them (would leave them about 16 sq ft of free space). Do I take the Dogloo out and put in the pool? Maybe put the Dogloo in there and the pool and have the sitter take the Dogloo out during the day to give them more space (it needs to be cleaned out anyway.....)

Thoughts?
Thanks!

Thanks so much for the reply. I'm so new to this and know absolutely nothing! I am taking your advice and leaving the pool out. I'm hoping that leaving them in there for a few days will also help them be more willing to head back in there at night. Hubby is getting very annoyed with the nightly duck herding.....
