This may be a stupid question, but I will be going on vacation for a few weeks and wondered if I had a higher end incubator to turn the eggs and manage humidity, temp etc that they could be left until I get back making sure obviously that I would return well before they hatch? People will be coming to the house very few days to check on things so I’m sure I could have them check the incubator as well. I’m figuring if I got one hatch in mid October ducklings would be able to go outside by mid November and tolerate cold well by then.
If that’s not a great option how might I encourage one of my hens to go broody on some eggs instead (or in addition to)? Thanks!
