Vacation Rant

Thanks for catching my back, Redhen. I really, really appreciate it!

WoW- This is the first birthday trip I have ever taken. I figure 40 is a huge milestone for a woman and it deserves to be celebrated for what it is! Everyone coming is in their later 30s to early 40s so it will be a spring break party for old women!

40 ISN'T FREEKIN OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being an organizer is almost always a pain. You'll work it out.

No way I would

Nope I wouldn't give it back either, I understand things come up and ruin plans but they still shouldn't expect their deposit back, I doubt the house owner your renting off would just hand you back the deposit if you cancelled, so neither should you, its just thier bad luck, you shouldn't go out of pocket for them just because you organised the trip.

I had a situation almost simular. Me and my sister and cousin were always wanting to go to disney together so we planned a trip, just before booking my sister pulls out because she doesn't want to save her money( she liked to party) , Me and my cousin still booked our trip we went later then we wanted to because she got pregnant, she begged me to let my youngest son go too, even though I only wanted my youngest as it wouldn't seem fair. I said ok, booked him too. My cousin never paid more then the down payment. It came time I wanted to book my flight, she kept stalling, she told me to book it and she will book it soon. Then all of a suddon she took her name off of my room and I was shocked she rebooked with her friend! By this time I would have lost too much money if I backed out so I decided to go just me and 2 of my 5 kids as no way I could come up with $5000 for the rest of them and my dh to go.I had fun but never talked to her since, it's been 2 years.

HA! While I think you would be great fun to have along as our token guy, the other girls might get cranky since I expressly said NO BOYS!! Somebody has to stay home with the kiddies!

Maybe Nifty will do the BYC convention after all and we can all go to the beach together!!! Whoohoo!!!

Sadly we are heading straight down Alabama and hanging left at Montgomery. I'll miss you by a bit, I think.

My sister is on her way right now to West Palm Beach to visit our brother and his family. I think she is heading your way. She had lunch earlier today at Truitt's, somewhere just south of Atlanta. It was built by the guy that started Chick-fil-A. Apparently it is the coolest place ever. There is a train track that runs around the perimeter of the inside that kids can control by a Big Red Button. What is not to love about a restaurant with a Big Red Button?! It had Chick-fil-A food, plus a lot of other options. It was a sit down restaurant, not fast food. She and the kids had a blast!

I know that, silly! But 40 is a milestone for women for sure. And we are admittedly older than the typical beach party house goers. In fact, when I was emailing the vacation home place, I referred to "the girls and I". She fired back an email wanting to make sure we were all over 25 years old. HA! And then some!!!

I'm pretty pleased all the way around about being 40. The other option is dead, after all.
