I'm in. I haven't joined a HAL in a while. This should be interesting. I haven't done any hatching in a while either. I'm hoping all those I bought eggs from has them in the mail or will soon. I'm usually the one shipping eggs. The shoe is on the other foot this time. I'll also be hatching some of my eggs as well as from other BYC'ers.

There is one set in the mail. One set I have yet to hear from the seller and another the hens stopped laying. So my bator won't be full as I was hoping. I just hope the other seller got the eggs in the mail or will tomorrow. My chickens are laying but I really wanted to add new blood to the flock instead of adding more of the same.

I have been planning to do this HAL for a month now and my chickens still haven't started laying again yet. I'm really bummed out. Even if by some miracle they start again I won't have very many eggs to work with. I guess I should have ordered some. oh well.

I just had a client of mine call me and say she was bringing me some silver apple yard duck eggs on Thursday. That would put me about 5 days to late for the V-Day hatch, but if you don't mind I would still like to join in the fun. I've never hatched ducks before.

My Black Copper Marans eggs are on their way. Its my first hatch and they have a long trip to get here, so I have my fingers crossed.

Welcome to the HAL everyone!!

i am going to be making the HAL if everything works out. We are going to trader joes and whole foods on saturday to get some hatching eggs..so that should make their hatch day on the 14th!!

Just wanted to say that it's getting closer to set day for chicken eggs. Please tell updates on eggs that you've already set. Feel free to ask questions and share pics of the eggs!! I'll be setting at least 4. My hens aren't laying good. Even tho it's been warmer for the past week& a half compared to 3 weeks ago when they were doing great. Hopefully I'll get more tomorrow& this weekend. But I'll be prepping the bator tomorrow to get temps& humidity adjusted, then I'll be setting the majority on Saturday around noon. But any eggs I get Sunday& Monday will probly join the others in the bator. I just can't wait to have some baby chicks peeping in the garage. According to my calculations, I should get mostly black chicks, maybe a few reds& buffs.
