I am guessing 500 eggs set for this hatch a long

i am thinking about getting some americanas esp the blue splash wheatens they are so pretty...and i will def be getting some marans down the road maybe for the Easter HAL.

I'm in if I can get any of my girls to lay. They stopped on me about a week ago. I have chicks hatching right now (day 19) but one can never have to many baby chicks.

i have one hen singing the egg song so i hope that means i will get some eggs soon. They have not laid for well over a month and one is molting the bugger. OH keeps texting me the hen is taunting him with the egg song and not laying any eggs.

I'm gonna follow this. I won't be hatching on vday but I will be hatching the week before on Feb 7th. Have some eggs lined up. This will be my 2nd try at hatching chicken eggs. My first try I got a dozen barnyard mix eggs and only managed to have 1 hatch. Had some humidity issues during lockdown.

Anyway this time I will be getting 18 eggs (I think)... delawares, Sicilian buttercups, cochins, polish, black sex links, california whites and ameraucanas. We will see if I don't get a few eggs from another person that's local as well.

Gonna work on getting my incubator and thermometer/hygrometer all figured out next week so I can be more prepared the 2nd time around.

Count me in! My Bantam Cochins are just starting to lay... and I might try and ge t some Muscovy eggs shipped! I've been dying to try and hatch Muscovy, I hear they are a challenging egg to hatch.

My muscovy eggs are doing just fine so far 8 out of 12 on day 15/16 i think lol. 2 were not fertile and 2 had an early quit. Since they were shipped eggs they are doing great. The only thing i have laying right now are my 2 mille fleur hens, they seem to be taking turns so i have been getting an egg everyday for 5 days now. i may try to hatch some if i see any evidence of them being fertile.

Right now the bator has 4 frizzles and 8 muscovy for the January HAL and 8 barnyard mix eggs for the NYD HAL. What i am doing for the febuary hatch i have no idea i would love to do some Buffs Orphs, Blue Splash Wheaten Americana. Iowa Blue, and Blue Laced Red Wyondotte....i like blues lol OH like Iowa Blue and BO.

Blue is my favorite. I just put my order in for 12 blue, lavender, and chocolate muscovy eggs. I also picked up a splash Marans hen add to my Black copper Marans pen, so I will hopefully be hatching some blue copper Marans soon.
