Okay. I think I got the incubator in the appropriate temp range so I can just plug it in next weekend. The humidity is still running low in here. I don’t how I’m going to get it up to 60% later. I did find an unused ink refill syringe to use to squirt water into the reservoirs through the egg turner cups so I can refill easily.

Question- I’m trying to collect the best eggs for use. I only have three RIRs – one lays a round egg, one lays a long egg that looks wide at both ends and I’m not sure about the other yet. Even though all my chicks will be mutts (my only roo is a EE), I’d like to get a chick from the RIR. Any viability with eggs that are not “egg shaped?”

Oh, Warden – I’m new to this chicken stuff but certainly not to being a nut job!

My coworker is bringing me some fertile eggs from her neighbor later this week. Looks like I will be joining in for a V-day first timer hatch!!
