To those who are wondering if they should buy from the Alabama valley farms hatchery! I just ordered from them 50 Cornish Rock...I received 41 birds in good condition...problem was we have sold 50 birds RAISED and are now short 9 birds to all of those who ordered...their response was nothing more than an email with a refund of 11.25 to my credit card...we didn't want the refund...we needed the birds...now we have to call the folks who ordered and explain to them the situation...they will understand but the time to call 7 individuals and do the explaining should not be necessary...if they would have emailed us prior to shipping that they did not have enough birds...we could have made arrangments with another supplier for the additional birds...this is their change order from their website...

Order Change Policy: At this time we are unable to make any changes to an order after it is placed. BUT they can make changes if it is convenient for them. WILL NOT order from this company again...sorry for the poor review 2 out of 5

I NEVER buy just as many birds as I have an order placed for, I always purchase an extra 15% just in case any die. It is almost impossible that none of your birds will die before, you should have looked into Cx, I’m almost positive more of your birds will die, on average with a 20 bird order for me, several die within first couple days, and a couple die later or break their legs. I am sorry however that they shipped less birds, that is the Company’s fault.

After raising chickens for 50 years I find that your losses are stunning...If I lose 1 percent of my order I feel as though I have abused my right to raise animals. In the beginning, my losses were about 10 to 15 percent but no longer...My post was for those who would buy from a company that is NOT customer service friendly...NOT about raising my birds.

Wow! They didn’t have the CX we know now 50 years ago though. Usually some of them just die randomply in my experience and some have broken legs too. I guess that’s just what most folks have when they get CX too. You must take great care of your birds, although, I would be very surprised if none of your other birds die this year, cause you can take great care, but a few will always die. Keep me posted.
