I got a free issue of Backyard Poultry last week and they had an article on a chicken's digestive system. They said that sharp articles that end up doing gizzard duty can sometimes penetrate the wall of the gizzard after a while.

That really caught my attention because one of my hens stole and swallowed one of my (thankfully fake) earring studs. I never saw it in the weeks afterwards, but now I'm worried about the effects of gizzard duty.

BAHAhahaahah! Sorry, had to laugh. I was putting on an emerald earring while my three Rottweilers were watching me in the bedroom. I dropped one. All dogs went for it. I was on poop patrol for a WEEK! Do the math, 3 rotties, 3-4 poops a day per dog, etc etc. I got it though. Had to put a tarp down in the dog run. Was about to have each dog x-rayed......
