They have fuzz on their legs and outer toe... what the heck kind of chicken could I have on my hands??? Since these are mixed eggs I have no idea what I've gotten... but they came from brown eggs!

Snowy... I had one that hatched last night almost 24 hourse after it first pipped not to worry!

Ducky... Hoping you see some action soon!

Our babysitter just called and we now have 3 babies! 2 yellow/white and 1 black... I'm very interested to see what the black one looks like! UGH Darn work getting int he way of being with these babies!

Good work hatching y'all. I have 5 babies from my mixed frizzle eggs adn I am working on a million eggs from Matt John, so hopefully some of the ones who passed away in the flood will have babies in my eggs. They are on day 9 ish. Also 3 showgirls left but they dont look too good. Going to put in the sultans and some from my new cool chickens probably today or tomorrow. Love y'all keep up the good work and I'll try to get back to the library to check up on you soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOSH! I was SO full of adrenaline when that chickie pie was born in my hand! It was peeping LOUD and I took it to mean HELP! So began chipping away shell and viola!

Jenette, here's my black one to see while you're at work;)

Another beginning a small pip area...am at work now, too:rolleyes: AAhhhgggh! Too exciting!!!

Wonder if this one's going to be as beautiful as the mama, she's a Silver Lace looking banty beauty.

Thanks, 2manyhats, but its only bcuz of all the wealth of information I mostly disregarded as I've done all my life, that I had the foggiest idea from this wonderful site full of so many helpful people...I wish I could follow directions more often!

1) I open the 'bator way too often, that could be numbers 1-10...
2) I turned the eggs even though the 'bator has an automatic turner
3) I lucked out on the temps and humidity because it was warm in the entryway and I have many large aquariums so opening the 'bator didn't hurt (so far!!!)
4) I really had no idea if the turner was set up right or the screen and trays and when to remove the turner screens so only took them out when number one chick was born
5) am hoping the other eggs/chicks aren't endangered now I've removed the turner trays (ie: air pocket)
6) these bantam eggs are size large according to store bought eggs
7) these chicks are humongous, filling the eggs to total maximum space!

I DID IT!!!!

Baby button quails started pipping last night, and by midnight I had one! Two more hatched shortly after that by 2am. At 4am - still only 3. By 6:30am (when I dragged my sleep butt out of bed) there were 4! Jumped in the shower, ran back up to look and there was number 5!

I absolutely killed me to have to leave and come to work today. I left everyone in the bator - afraid to open it. Should hopefully have 4 more to go. I was hoping there were 9 good eggs.

What a miracle - thank you all for your help and guidance. Even with the temperature spikes up to 104, the little things persevered. I'm so relieved!!!!

Im on day 8 i candled last night and 6 of the 9 seem to be doing good i could see them swimming and moving yay. one of the 9 is a very dark brown egg its to hard to see in it i know it has a yolk but not sure about anything else. the other one has the dark dot but the veins are runny and the yolk is just white. is that normal or did it die early? the other i could see the veins but no sign of the chick im hopeing its just hiding from the nerves mom lol
