Curious what you see biblically that indicates you shouldn’t eat meat
I'm not answering for Bakbuk, but I used to believe the same, so from my understanding heres a new points to consider:

In Gensis, God originally planned for mankind to eat plants, not meat. Meat was only permitted after sin happened and man kind fell. It was not the ideal which was set initially.

When God finally permitted meat, he gave strict dietary laws, for what is known as kosher. These laws said that blood was not to be eaten, and that only certain meats were suitable.
Living by such laws today, it is difficult to find meat that is suitable. And with all the science that shows how much healthier plant based diets are, I believe its reasonable to reach this conclusion.

Another thought here, could be that way back in Jesus' time, a plant based diet was not possible- to be healthy, one would have to eat some form of meats.
Nowadays, it's much easier to thrive on a plant based diet, and it's healthier for the body and for the planet.

...As well as being a kinder alternative to animals. where commercial farming is involved, I can't imagine any deity being happy with how those animals are being treated.
The Bible says a wicked man doesn't care for his livestock, but a righteous man does.
so clearly He cares somewhat about them.

Thank you so much for writing this. I have absolutely no talent with words whatsoever and can never seem to be able to express myself in a way that others understand. Basically, I wouldn't have known how to say it in a way that would make sense to everybody. So I really, really appreciate the time, thought, and effort you put into writing all this.

Because you were spot on for the entire thing, all the way through. That is exactly what I believe and why.
Thank you again.

No problem! I used to talk a lot about the subject so I have some of the knowledge tucked away in my mind!

numerous times God provided meat to his people. During the exodus for example. Also in Acts Peter had vision and revelation from God to kill and eat. He denied because it was the customs to not eat unclean things as you mentioned… God responded saying he made all things clean. That’s the transition on dietary law anyway.

You are also free to eat as you wish I believe it was said the things that come out of someone is what defiles a man and what goes into man goes into the belly. Mathew 15ish without looking it up.

Yes that's because eating meat was never inherently wrong, according to scripture. But now we have factory farms, and greed. And we don't HAVE to rely on meat in some areas of the world. So if you take into consideration *all* of the scriptures, God's preference is loud and clear.

this is also false by the way, this passage was symbolism for "gentiles". Had nothing to do with the literal sense.
Every time Peter was told to eat unclean meat, he said no, he would not disobey God's law. He never ate the meat. He simply understood "hey, god would never tell me to break his own law. This must have deeper meaning". And it did, it was about bloodlines not eating meat.
The law on eating blood was also never taken back.

And despite what you quote of Jesus, he never touched unclean meat, and followed the Jewish Laws. Don't take his words out of context

Freaking yum!

I know these verses, they're taken wildly out of context.
The food laws from the Old testament still stand
