My diet is primarily vegie and nut based and 75% of the meat I eat comes from my own chickens and turkeys(not including fish). I do this for my own health reasons, and a little for the ethical/moral issues. Big poultry is hardly humane.
What bugs the heck outa me about discussions like this are all the absolutes. Do vegetarians live longer? I don't see how you can scientifically prove it either way. The test groups vary too much. Is vegetarianism healthier than the average US diet? I'd say heck yeah to that one. I've heard valid arguments for and against eating meat. I believe are bodies have evolved to be meat eaters based on our organs, teeth, brains, etc...
It's a personal choice and I support anyone's right to choose their own diet.
With all that said a good squirrel parmesan is to die for.
