Sorry just doesn't cover this. Hugs tears and prayers.

Just a thought, do they crop dust around there. My brother had alot of problems with his animals one year and found out that the crop duster changed the junk he dropped and it was even more toxic then the one before. They had changed it for the jap beetles.

Thanks to all of you who always support me through this terrible stuff. Michele, the feeds they eat still contain animal protein. I may one of the few people who still look for that when I buy feed. They've all done so well till this, even molting, but Skye is still mostly naked herself. She laid an egg today and I just wish she'd quit and grow her feathers back. Velvet's were coming back nicely as of today, darn it.
We are not going to do a necropsy on Velvet. It's obvious that it wasn't primarily a reproductive issue nor anything contagious; it was obviously a crop problem and possibly gout on top of that. OR maybe the gout caused the crop issue, who knows? I just hate to lose a beauty like Velvet before she even turned two years old.

I'm soooo sorry, Cyn. If I was a chicken, I'd want to live at your house. I would have a wonderful chicken life. No matter how long that life would be. RIP Velvet.

Karen
