I am so sorry. I hope your able to find a friend for your drake. It's very heart breaking to lose them, many of us can feel your pain.

So sorry to hear this!! I know it's hard on the family as well as your drake!

Where about are you located? Lots of members are always posting ducks that need new homes! Aaaand it's almost duckling season

A surprise twist-my “drake” was a fake! They were both females! My remaining female is very lonely, so we did get two ducklings to raise to eventually put them together so she will have some buddies when they are fully feathered. I got straight run ducklings from Tractor Supply. I’m really hoping at least one is a female so they don’t end up fighting over her if they are both drakes. We live in Eufaula, Alabama, and I’m not sure there are a whole lot of members in this area, but that’s good to know just in case we have to expand our flock even more! Thank you!

That's great news! I imagine the introduction of ducklings to a female should go much more smoothly than if she was a drake.

We’ve got some grown up babies! They are getting along really well with our big duck (Krum). She’s happy to have new friends!
