Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well! 😊 I came on here for advice as there is a lack of vets in my tiny country that specialise in poultry!

So i have a lovely little flock with a Sussex hen that unfortunately was a victim of cannibalism (vent pecking). The vent was glued and I gave her anitbiotics (Baytril) for 10 days! Since then the has this horrible smelling discharge non stop...I thought of Vent gleet so been putting Canesten twice a day under and aeound vent, some probiotics and yoghurt...after the cream application it does look a bit clearer but the next morning everything is covered in white discharge again! What could it be? 😔

Attached some pictures!

Thank you so much for your unput, much appreciated!!

It may be Vent Gleet but is she has recently suffered from damage to the vent, she may be leaking urates and poop. It can be hard to know.

I'd treat as Vent Gleet with the anti-fungal/yeast medication. Good idea to also give probiotics since she was on an antibiotic. Do check her crop to make sure its emptying overnight too.
