Are you giving any human B complex? You can crush 1/2 tablet and add to her food daily, and that may help with her leg issues. General weakness or a vitamin B deficiency, can affect the legs, but time will tell (along with testing or a necropsy if you should lose her) if Mareks is an issue.

No I only thought of this last night and only have selenium and poly vi sol on hand but il grab some human b complex. Fingers crossed this is just nutrient deficiency and weakness from her not independently for so many days

The PolyVisol will work for now since it has riboflavin, but the B complex is a better buy and goes a long way. Vitamin E along with a tiny amount of selenium is helpful with a neurological symptom, common in some leg problems. Too much selenium is not good.

Should work! I'd just give her half of the adult dosage, so 1/2 of one pill, once a day.

Gave her half a pill of the b complex, hopefully theres some improvement with it. I do think the gabepentin is helping pain wise, she seems less puffed up and more lively despite not being able to get around. She has a few more days of antibiotics as well. Her temperature seems normal now , she felt like an oven yesterday. She is still struggling to stand/walk and sitting on her butt with her legs infront. Her toes are curling when shes about to fall over (trying to balance?) otherwise they are normal. She has more of an appetite at the moment. Enjoying yogurt with her crumble sprinkled on top. I offered meal worms and she went crazy for them. So she’s eating “solid food” for the first time in many days so that is a win. I can’t get her to stay in a sling, shes being to flappy and fiesty with it. I wrapped a towel around her for now that helps keep her more upright. Shes getting harder to force feed too, shes squirming away. But at least that shows she has more energy than before. Im debating stopping the monistat. I don’t see any signs of vent gleet anymore but hard to say when shes passing so little stool. Im still applying polysporin to the sore under her vent though. I stopped the prep H as the prolapse is no longer an issue

Slight improvement today. Her leg issue seems to be about balance/strength not paralysis. If I put light pressure under her backside she walks perfectly fine up on her feet. She is trying to “roost” on things. She is laying down on her hocks and mostly walks on her hocks if she has no assistance. If I even hold some tail feathers up, or every few steps if I tip her backside up she is able to get around typically. She is acting like her butt is heavy though and keeps wanting to sit like an eggbound bird, however there is no egg in there. Maybe a growth? Iv been keeping her in a carrier crate for over a week and I think it has made it much worse as she hasnt HAD to walk or stand much in over a week. Since last night I have been taking her out of the crate and having her walk herself back to it every few hours, she seems to walk better each time. She won’t eat her crumble without being force fed but she will happily eat meal worms, yogurt and wet cat food. So unfortunately that is mostly what she is eating now (with nutridrench and soaked crumble added)

lots of improvement, I think she will fully recover. She is walking again. Shes slightly shakey at times but doing very well. Her prolapse and vent gleet seems to be fully healed. I continue to put polysporin on the sore below her vent and spray Vetericyn Plus. Her appetite improves every day, though shes eatting minimal layer crumble. Mostly cat food meat chunks, yogurt and mealworms. I hope that is why her feces are still off colored and runny. She is no longer making a mess of her feathers but the poo has stained her yellow/green. I had her on puppy pads to monitor blood loss but since switching to shavings she seems to have much better grip and able to stand correctly and walk more. Still giving B complex once a day, amoxicillin twice a day and gabapentin twice a day. I will stop the oral meds on day 10. Considering worming her later this week incase thats causing the poo issues. Though the meds and strange diet I imagine is the culprit

She appeared to make a pretty much full recovery, her poops were almost normal. Brown/white but just small and sort of watery. She was eating more and more solid foods. But then yesterday morning took a huge step back and I have no clue why: back on her hocks, can’t walk, falling and refused to eat all day. I force fed at night after waiting all day to see if she would eat or drink enticing foods on her own. This morning I gave her the last dose of amoxicillin. Her crop wasnt fully empty, maybe the antibiotics have her sour crop? Gave her a small amount of monistat orally. I have not stopped the vitamin b. I put nutridrench in her water again today, though she won’t even drink. She is however eating plain yogurt willingly today. No longer will take egg, crumble, mealworms or cat food though
