Vent gleet

Well, the first time was about a week ago but about a week before that we noticed his tail was drooping. So he may have already had it then. We didn't know he was feeling poorly until a week ago.

What does he eat (feed and treats)? Does he have free access to grit? Have you checked them over for mites and lice? What about internal parasites ~do you deworm them or have fecal floats ran to check for parasites? Please take a current picture of him and post it. I'll tag some of our wonderful members that have the experience and knowledge to share some thoughts.

EDITED TO REMOVE TAGS (thread has been made before this one) Maybe this thread can be added to the original thread ~I don't know ~

I wish you the best with him

I'm not sure what other suggestions I can come up with that have not been cover in the OP's other thread.

My apologies for the tag. I didn't realize there was another thread on this bird. I'll remove the tags (I hope that's OK).

@Candy11 since the folks that I always trust have been over this case, I'd continue with their suggestions and get him in to see a vet or have a fecal float ran as soon as possible.

Just for future reference, it's always a good idea to keep everything that's going on with the patient in one thread so everything is together. That way folks won't be repeating the same thing and tagging folks already involved, plus that gives more time for the amazing folks to ponder on what's going on with your bird and having information about what you've done up till now. I'm wishing the best for you and for your cockerel.

No worries. You don't have to remove tags. I was just referring back to their thread since it was already a few pages long, no need for me to repeat on this thread too 🙂
