Yes, big pain in the rear, but she was saying that her neighbors did not want a fence. The point here is they can actually be required to erect and maintain one. I think this is an exceptional point given that the neighbor has been complaining about livestock wandering into her yard...
I agree. I guess she wants her cake and to eat it too?? The biggest shocker is that all along we have always lived in harmony. I can understand where she is coming from. If she doesn't want the chickens on her lawn that is her right. If she would have called and explained rather than throw rocks and yell and swear at me then maybe I would look at her in a different light. I guess all of a sudden she has blown a gasket.
As far as the drainage goes it's not a septic system. It's some sort of big pipe, under ground that is under part of our land. I would say it's because they put a new foundation in and we actually sit in low land. (we'll see how that works for them). If they want to pursue to keep that part of our land I frankly don't care. It's probably a piece that 20 feet by 80 feet. We still own ALL around them so to me it wouldn't be worth the fight. I am not going to offer that info to them though.
Their dog honestly doesn't worry me. The idea that she has declared war makes me want to be crabby about it though. She did mention the dog is going to be put down soon due to old age I guess so I don't have to worry about it. She said they aren't getting a new dog so I will cross that bridge when I have to. eta the drainage was put in about 4 months ago.
The dumpster is going to be pushed over on their lawn since it's not ours. We don't need it. We are waiting until we put up the fence to do this.
I am going to check out the site about putting up fences in Maine. I would have to chuckle if they had to pay for half the costs. She doesn't want a fence and then to have to pay for half of it would wind her up I am sure. Even if we pay for the fence I might even mention to her that we COULD make her pay half just so she knows we have that over her.
The biggest shocker is that who in their right mind is going to start a big fight with someone that owns property on 3 sides of them. If we really wanted to be horrible we could put our pigs way closer to the property line where their pool is. We could cut down all the trees which I know they don't want because they have said that in the past.
