Vent problems. Need some advice

I'm so relieved! Leave it to me to worry about someone else's hen like it was mine. My mom just lost one of her's this week and I teared up a bit. I hope your girl is able to lay without another incident. It's good that she's waiting awhile.

I feel the same way when I read other peoples throats about their check in and wish I had advice for them. I guess chicken people just know how it feels. I'm so sorry for your mom's loss. I'm glad my hen is waiting till late also. I had to give her an antibiotic when the prolapse got infected. Do you have any experience with antibiotics? Trying to figure out how long I should wait before I eat an egg she layed when she begins laying again

I teared up when my mother-in-law lost all six of her White Leghorns to what we assume was a coyote and had nothing left but a badly injured rooster. And I definitely cried when he passed to his injuries three days later. I'm getting all teary-eyed again thinking about it now. At least she had him in a nice soft warm spot in the house for his last few days

I haven't had to give mine any antibiotics yet, luckily. I have no idea how long you should wait for it to pass through before the eggs are ok to eat. Whenever I don't know something, I google it, and most of the time BYC posts come up first.

That's how I found byc. I've actually been reading it for over a year but didn't know how to join. Internet is like outer space to me. I believe she layed an egg today but can't reach it to see if it's hers She layed it on top of the small coop .... of course. I'm gonna do some research on the antibiotic. I think the prolapse stayed in. When I let them out I didn't notice anything but she's hanging out under the truck with the rooster so can't get to her till dinner

I know this sounds silly but does anybody know how to post a new Thread. I can't remember how I got to posting this one. I'm the least tech savvy person I know

Ok, I had to go back through it myself to make sure because it's been awhile since I've done it. You go to forums, then choose your topic from there. At the top of the chosen topic page there's a big blue link "button" that says Post New Thread, you can't miss it.

I played around for a while and figured it out. Thank you. This is the first time I've ever posted something on a website And I don't have Internet at home so doing it through a phone makes it even harder. Thank you
