I separated my males into a separate cage, & today an egg showed up in there! Their cage is in a separate location, and they have all been vent sexed (multiple times each.) After finding the egg, I re-checked every bird. All of them produce foam at their vents--some more, some less. (None of them are able to be sexed by plumage.) Is it possible for a female to produce a small amount of foam at her vent site? I thought all foam was semen. If not, do females also have the ability to produce another foam-type substance, in a smaller amount? A few of the "male" birds only had a little....could one of those be a female?
