Vent Sexing New Chicks

So I just hatched 10 silkies. All different colors. 100% hatch rate and my first time hatching eggs. One of them had pasty butt the other day, I got a warm wet rag and got it all off gentley. They puckered out their butt and I think I saw the little "pimple" looking thing. Is this an alternative, nicer way to vent sex? I saw another post on it but there was no definite answer and it was from 2011 so I don't think there will be any updates.. Thanks!!

Vent sexing is best left to professionals. I don't think the little bit that you saw was enough to sex by. I don't know how to do it myself, but I know that the professionals go through a bunch of training for it, and even then are only accurate to 90%.
