I have also done my duty--with the throw aways and drop offs. Right now we have 9dogs 6 of which were dropped off at our farm, three we got from rescues. We have had as many at 14 dogs, 12 cats at one time. Over the last 36yrs. I have paid 10,000's of $$. In vet bills to get shots, surgery (emergency as well as spay and neuter), get meds for these animals, I have given away so many animals to my friends, families and neighbors--I know the cringe when they see me coming. Our vet said =He should name his new clinic after me! He gives me breaks, the Animal Advocates in our county now work with me in finding homes..... But I just get so mad when I hear of yet another--litter of unplanned puppies, kittens, hamsters etc... Because I know that there will be less room at the shelters, less homes for these babies and they may end up on a road--waiting for their humans to return for them..Alone, cold, hungry and sad..
I thank all of you who take in these babies, and care for them.....Bless you all...Dixie
