I was laying in bed this morning, thinking about how much I hate mornings. I really do! I have a heal spur on one foot, and plantar fasciitis in both feet, so just getting out of bed and walking is EXTREMELY painful.

Then DH wants his breakfast right now. Of course it's got to be a big breakfast, bacon eggs, potatoes or waffles or something.

The only good thing, about mornings, is that I get to collect eggs.

So I was playing the poor pitty me game this morning, when I got up and saw that Silkilovers coop burned down.

and DH walks in with breakfast.

Sometimes it just helps to have things put into perspective. I guess it's not so bad after all.

Yep, a little perspective goes a long way.

I know what you mean about the heel spurs and plantar fasciitis. I've found that sleeping in my recliner, with my feet propped up on the foot rest, is the next best thing to not having the problems at all. It probably isn't as practical a solution for someone who's married.......

I had heel spurs and plantar faciitis. Have you ever had cortizone injections for the heel spur? It works pretty good, I only had to have 2 injections in 12 years. Also, therapy and a good pair of shoes and arch supports help alot. My feet don't hurt at all anymore.

And yes, we all need to count our blessings, it could always be much worse.

Hello....Gee i certainly know how it feels to have plantar fasctis. I have it in my right foot....I to hated the thought of getting out of bed in the morning and if there was an emergency downstairs...kids !....and I had to move fast....ohhh ouch ouch @#$% !!!......I have been taking antiinflammatories(SP) for my shoulder and it has seemed to help my foot also I checked it out on the computer way back and one site said to roll your foot on a frozen bottle of water...so I did that while sitting at the computer....helped a little and I also bought high arch insoles for ever boot, shoe and slipper I have.....helps a little also the doctor said therapy but thats a 30 minute drive to and back from town.....
My DH has spurs above his heel along the muscle from playing sports in general and waering work boots he had to see a therapist and what she did was have ME !!! rub his spurs!!! HUH?....he had to lay on his stomach and starting from the heel in one swoop using the thumb and the pointer finger squeeze with some pressure going up the muscle..and repeat..do you understand that? I used cream and sometimes one of the creams you put on muscles(heat) and he would JUMP through the roof !!!! sounded like he was giving birth ! hahaha! but once I did it for awhile he would feel a little relief BUT at the same time he was going three times a week to get therapy on his ankles with all there gagets etc.and special soles for his work boots .He hasnt gone for awhile so the odd time I still rub his ankles....and I am STILL waiting for breakfast in bed !!!hahaha that was nice of your hubby ...hope things get better and hope some of my ideas help......

Thanks everybody. I can use all the help I can get. I got over the plantar fasctis pretty well, to the point where I'd only get injections for the spur once every 1.5 years.

I just got the shot again, and it was starting to do it's thing, when my orthotic moved and caught right to the back of the spur and pushed up on it. I couldn't stop and fix it right then, so I got home and put on my boots without the orthotic in them. Well after a little while I felt something kinda tear, and that was it, I could have just SCREAMED in pain, if I wasn't at the hardware store at the time. I knew I was dead.

The whole shot was for nought. Can't afford to go to the doctor, I did remember that I had these compression socks that I got a while ago for it. So I've been wearing those. I started wearing my old beat up boots because they feel better. The new ones are a nightmare. I take anti-inflamatories all the time anyway and pain pills, (that why this is so scary) But boy, I'm really struggling with it.

I got the shot, because I was going to try to get a seasonal job around Christmas, and I needed to be able to stand on my feet. Well, this totally shot a hole in the idea. Maybe I wasn't supposed to get a job. I don't know. I have Fibromyalgia so I'm in plenty of pain all the time anyway, I didn't need this too.
