Ventilation for winter

Silver wyandettes and ISO Brown
I loved the isa brown baby that my wife picked up xxl brown eggs. We only have one left now(not the smartest at getting away from coyotes). We have both breeds. We put a stick in the brooder and the all chicks use it. I would do what aart said. You may have to train them to roost or should I say show them. It is in there dna already to sleep up off the ground. Show them in the day and place them there at night. Start with a low roost and as they grow they will almost always go to the highest roost. Our one isa brown baby and wyndettes are some of the first birds on the top roost in our coop that is @ 7 foot off the ground. aND THE ONE ISA Brown baby, JANE it is one of Samantha favorite birds. Anyone can handler her. She is calm and very people orientated.

Yes we put a stick in their brooder too and they did use it and then when I first put the roosting poles up in the coop for them I put them low to the ground and then never use them so then I just recently put them higher up but I still never see them on them and I've checked them at night and they're all huddled in the corner on the floor lol

The only place I've ever seen them perch is in on the door. When the top half is open.

Ok so place a perch about that same height off the floor and place them on it for a few days . Once the get the hang I would make another perch a little higher and show them that. They will catch on fast. Im just surprised they haven't used the 2x4 perch yet. If they can get to it They should start using it once you show them a few times.

Awesome. Yeah that's what my iso's eggs look like but they are alot smaller maybe because they are only four and a half months old ?
