VENTILATION IMAGES NEEDED!

You can put short, wide openings along the upper part of one wall which are made like windows with heavy 1/4 inch grid mesh. On the outside is a drop shutter with hinges and a latch. It should be positioned so the overhang prevents most rain from getting in there should it be left open. On the opposite wall should be at least one mesh good sized window that can be shut in a similar fashion. This produces good airflow. The mesh openings can be covered in muslin or canvas if you need to prevent actual drafts should your location be windy, that will still allow ventilation without the risk of draft. A occasional spray with bleach water will kill any risk of mildew or mold.
Also if there is an opening in each end of the roof, you can open both in the summer and the hot air will escape and keep the building cooler. In the winter it can be stuffed with straw and closed ,the building will stay much warmer. That carrys a mild risk of mice and bugs though, the straw stuffing. It needs to be replaced each winter and left empty in the summer. It should be aired out on dry mild days while full in the winter.
That's the way they did ventilation in the old days. It's inexpensive and simple to do which is why I like it. (Excuse my dodgy artwork below lol, I tried)
