Ventilation Question

Hmm, if you get summertime temps in the 100's, and your winters are mild, you might want to consider building a "hot weather coop." That's a completely different design: roofed, but open on the sides (covered with hardware cloth only). Some people build a back wall with short sidewalls, others leave all four sides open. In the winter, you can tarp the sides.

That's what my experienced poulty friend has been doing for 20 years here in North Texas with good effect. He started out with one of the traditional closed coop designs but found it got way too hot in there in the summertime. He uses chainlink dog kennels with metal roofing panels on them, plus lots of natural shade from trees and vines that he's planted around his runs.
