Versions of "chick chairs" PLEASE!

Welcome To BYC

I'm sorry to hear about your chicken.
Thank you for the tips of using face masks as supports for a chick chair, good idea.
If you have photos of how you have this setup, you're more than welcome to add them to the thread so others can have a visual of your description.
Also would very much like to see pic of your handiwork.

I would only leave the chick in there for a few hours at a time. They can struggle to get out, and can get hurt, so keep an eye on them. Place food and water close enough to reach. Here are a bunch of homemade chairs and slings:

Those are incredible. You could probably find a niche and make a buck or two by creating / selling them.

Thank you for your Ingenuity and images! I have a silkie 14 weeks old with injured hip. I'm building her a sling from pvc and mesh. she's isolated in a tupperware with wood shavings for tonight until the sling is made but she'll stay in the tupperware. You seem to have lots of experience.

How many hours should she remain in the sling each day?

Should her get touch the ground?

The pictures come from BYC threads, and most are not mine. We try to post pictures of all the good ideas people come up with. Slings are good for periods throughout the day to make feeding and keeping them cleaner while healing. I do think they should have time out of the sling to sleep and rest, stretch, and maybe have a little physical therapy to keep the muscles working (unless the limb is broken or sprained.) Feet can touch ground if you are trying to get them to use the leg normally, but if you are letting it heal from injury, it is better to be off the ground. Some chickens will try to keep ill themselves to get out of slings sometimes, and you will need to determine what is best for your chicken. For some, it may be better to prop them on rolled towels or bedding on the floor or in a crate.

I (and two vets) suspect that my Light Brahma, Goose, has Marek's. About three months ago, she started limping, and now she is unable to stand. She still moves one leg, but I think she may have hurt it while compensating for the unusable leg, so we made her this sling. We included a removable roosting bar for her to grab on to since she always loved to perch on her roosts, and my husband 3D printed her some cup holders for her food. Goose is about a year old.

If we can ever help any of you by making and sending you one of these to help your chicken, we'd love to. We are also working on designing a similar structure that is smaller and for chicks that can quickly be 3D printed and shipped out to help those of you dealing with baby chicks with splay legs and such. We would do it for free or cost. Not looking to make money. Just looking to help all of the chickies. Feel free to send me a message if any of that sounds like it could help out your chooks. 💓
I hope you get this, I see it's been quite some time since this post. I've been nursing a sick chicken slowly back to heath for going on twelve weeks. She started with a pretty severe lung infection. She kicked it's butt but now can't walk. I'm not sure what is going on but one of your "inventions" would benefit her tremendously! With feeding and watering and just being able to "stand" and move her legs some. Please let me know how I can get one. I saw that you offered to make them at no charge but I would definitely make a donation to an animal group of your choice.

My version.
so just to be sure. You cut out a hole in a Tupperware lid. Put a suck over the cup to act as a sort of sling put the cup and sock through Tupperware. Soda lids with food and water, correct? I need help building a chick chair for my baby since she’s got an injured leg and she seems to want to stay in my hand, as if for comfort.

Here is a good link with a sling made form a sock and cup:

Are you still making these? Do you have the parts list that you used?
