Hello everyone!
My chicken, Precious, has a bad case of bumblefoot. Any recommendations?
(I will try to put some pictures on here soon) I have tried giving her foot Epsom salt baths but doesn't seem to help. If it is better to keep on going with that, I will try. 😊

I have been looking into the surgery, but I am rather squeamish, so, if possible, I would rather not do that.
Also, I don't know if this will help but, she is an Isa Brown and is about 3 years old.... I think.
Thank you so much everyone! Have a great day! :hugs

(If you have any other questions, I would love to answer them 😊)

Thank you for the information Eggcessive!
Here are some photos. 😊

It doesn't look too bad, but she limps pretty badly, and it is definitely swollen. Thank you so much though!:hugs

The bumble foot scab doesn’t look bad, but she looks to have scaly leg mites. I would try treating those with saoking in warm soapy water, and then when dry, apply vaseline to the legs and feet.

Okay, thank you!
I will definitely look into that. 😊

There are many different treatments for bumble foot, including dressing with Betadine plus sugar (sugardine,) Prid drawing salve, soaking with TriCide Neo koi fish treatment, Epsom salts soaks followed by scab removal and squeezing out the pus plug. Here are some articles to read:

Help! My chicken ingested a small amount of tricede neo. Will she get sick?
