I got these birds around 3 months back that are great. They were sold as pearl but are obviously mutts.. some brown in their feathers. Irregardless they are great, I actually wish I had done more guineas than chickens.

My question: The birds know their home now, which is this very mini-coop. They are only 3 months old so not yet maturity. If they know where home is now is that to be expected later or will they start to become more "wild" as they reach maturity?

Thanks, guinea people!

They aren't mutts, just babies still. Pearl Greys will lose the last of their brown juvenile feathers when they molt again, should any time now.... but usually no later than 4 months old.

If they know where home is now, and you already have a normal established free range and coop-up routine with them then they should stick to the routine as they mature. Breeding season brings out a whole new side of their personalities tho, so you may have some issues with the Alpha male being too much of bully at the door as the others try to come in, which can cause the Omega males and even some more timid Hens to not want to come into the coop at night, just to avoid the bully. Having 2 doors to the coop can help with this issue.
