we all have them
We all deal with them differently
And many people have very definite opinions.
I understand that, and this post is graphic, upsetting, honest.
I live in Texas, rural, I seldom have predator issues, if I do, generally, a dumped dog, feral cat, bobcat etc...
My neighbor has 200+ sheep, coyotes and feral hogs abound. The pecan orchard has issues feral hogs, and would you believe-deer- as a nuisance animal?
Old farmers/ranchers believed--
Hang a snake belly up in a fence, it will rain in 3 days.
Hang a dead coyote on a fence, it will deter other yotes.
I killed a copperhead Thursday, hung it on fence, it was there Friday, until the hawk that had been eyeing it, grabbed it and flew off. I got 4.5" rain Saturday night.
My neighbor (not sheep person) has a major issue with coyotes. He Hang every yote on a fence post, sometimes 2 per post. He has not decimated the population, he does not have as many as he used too. He also has a bone pile of his stock killed by predators.
Everyone has their own way of dealing with a predator.

Here goes

If they're squeamish, they have no business in livestock or this website.
I don't find this remotely graphic, personaly.
Deer and elk are nuisance animals here too. Does hanging coyotes seem to work to repel them? I wonder if the pelts are with anything.

For goodness sakes, animal rights activity must hate his guts!

But if it works, it works. No denying that.
Surprisingly-very few negative. There are alot hanging, not as many now as I saw growing up in the 60's & 70's.
In 2000 the county had a bounty on coyote and hog.
$2 an ear on yotes and $5 per hog. Take yote ears (here's the kicker-you had to take entire hog) to Sheriff dept, they'd pay you .

Oh? We don't have hogs where I live only wiley, mountain lions, coons fisher cats, foxes, rats, and hawks, and stray animals.

We have all of those except maybe fishers. We do have ring possum and tail cats, but I've never seen ring tails bothering chickens.
Never heard of tail cats. We do have possums to.
