Very Happy with my Mt. Healthy order

On April 1st, I received an urgent email from McMurray, they had tragically confirmed bird flu in one of their breeder barns and I would have to adjust my order. Unfortunately, all but two birds in my order were affected by the restriction and any Pullet or even straight run chicks were sold out until Mid-September. It didn't make too much difference to me but a few families at church had also ordered specific chicks through my order for specifically early May
That started the search for available Pullet chicks, to be delivered in a little more than a month. After a few frustrated hours of searching and comparing availability, prices, various fees and shipping, I had settled on Mt. Healthy Hatchery out of Mt. Healthy, Ohio.
The prices were fair, even for breeds frequently deemed 'rare', and I especially like the availability page, where you can select all the breeds you're interested in and all common availability dates will be listed. No graphs or back and forth checking.
Right after I completed my purchase, I realized I never confirmed my ship date, checking my invoice, I accidentally choose the following Monday as my ship date! I emailed them right away asking to cancel or to move my ship date, the next morning, I received an email back asking what my prefered ship date would be and while I was typing up a response, I got a call from a nice lady from Mt. Healthy to change my ship date and it was easily changed without fee.
My chicks arrived this morning, bright eyed and bouncy, one even tried to make a break for it when I opened the box at the post office to show the post office ladies.
I received an extra chick that is likely another Sussex but since she's a little fluffier and a fair bit lighter, I have talked myself into believing she's a Beilifelder but time will tell.
They are lounging in their brooder right now, beautifully marked and absolutely "the healthiest chicks".
I'm definitely ordering from them again in the future as needed.

"Life may find a way but death ain't that lazy either." - Cracking up here at your siggie line. That works!!!!

I ordered speckled sussex, Barnevelders and Partridge Plymouth Rocks, unfortunately one of the Partridge rocks died last night, I think shipping was just too much for her, which is a pity, I only ordered 3 of those. Everyone else is bouncing around. :]
We ordered barnies the other day from Mt Healthy, but they won't arrive til late May. How are you liking them???? I am kinda excited about them. Only recently found out about the breed. Was actually in the market for BA, but when I saw them I had to bite. I only ordered 4 - pullets. What do you say?

Their availability (Mt Healthy) this year has been amazing! They are a bit pricier, but the selection is great and they are a bit smaller than other hatcheries. Great service, too. I’m looking forward to a Lavender Orpington, Bielefelder, and Splash Laced Red Wyandotte just to name a few! So excited for June!

So far, my experience with Mt. Healthy has been stellar, too. I ordered just 4 chicks (all I have room for), so I'm paying the "small order" fee.

When I got the order confirmation email, I saw that they had really misspelled my street. It was a "fingers on the wrong keys" typo. So I called back, talked to the same lady as took my order. I explained the issue, she fixed it and said she'd send me a new confirmation email.

And she thanked me for catching the mistake. :)

10 weeks from today... Not that I'm counting down the days, right?

They're a bit small (as in build, very sporty) compared to the Sussex and rock's but they are pretty. One is mixed color, like a blue, I plan on getting more.
Here they are, and their eggs. Not quite as orange in real life, nice terracotta.

I also just ordered from Mt Healthy yesterday. I searched for hours for anyone with pullets who were delivering in the next 3-4 weeks. I couldn't find anyone anywhere. There prices were a little higher but I ordered a 10 variety rare breed package, that included all breeds I would be happy with getting and all pullets, so the prices really weren't that different. I made a mistake on my order and immediately emailed them, someone got back to me in less than an hour and fixed it.
I will update this post after their delivery.

Good luck with your birds, I'm very happy with my birds from them.
