Very Hungry - Greedy or another problem??

I had company over yesterday who are looking to start their own flock in the spring. They followed me into the barn (my coop is a spare stall 14x14 split in half..2 coops) And of course all my goofy hens are popping their lil heads up over the door jumping up for joy at seeing me...Folks thought that was so cute..."Look, they are so happy to see you!", she says... UM, yea? I didn't try to explain that they are just horrible little beggers and I'm the food/treat lady to give them some bread or lettuce....hmm.
They are too cute though and of course I had to give them a treat...I'm such a wuss for the show they put on....
Ah well, the folks will learn soon enough! LOL

I have come to the understanding that chickens are smart, and like any smart enough creature they learn to associate sounds and the humans feeding them with food/treats. My chickens have a catwalk about 4 feet off the ground that runs along side there chicken run, all of my girls have taught themselves to run up the ramp or fly to the catwalk and line up side by side in anticipation of me feeding them some meal worms or tasty treats any time I approach the run. I often find myself calling them greedy little pigs, especially when one of them starts to think its not getting its fair share of treats.

Same here I was worried they are pigs every time I walk outside they rush up to me or anyone begging for food! Henny in particular is always going crazy for food she bullies Penny who is a lot younger & thinner too :(
