Help! Nardole the Brave has a mystery going on, and I really need some help!
He is a 2 year old Polish crested rooster, and has a swelling on the back/side of his neck down towards his crop.
I am ashamed to say I don't know how long it's been there. He has been a little poorly and rough for weeks, but I put it down to a harsh molt and an abrupt change in weather, and never investigated until tonight, when I realized he was having trouble crowing.
Poor boy is skin and bones--I don't know if he has been getting enough nourishment at all, he has been tidbitting for his ladies, but I never looked to see if he was eating.
I thought maybe it was trapped air, but when I stuck a needle in, it smelled like sour grain and no air came out.
How did this happen?? What do I DO?!

Pictures attached.

Could that be his crop? I cannot tell with the pictures. Does he have the sour odor from his beak? If his crop is full and squishy it might be sour crop.
