Very large comb now flopped over and rotting underneath, any comb support to keep it up?

I am not familiar with the foam ones, they may be too small and flexible...my Mother used to have sponge hair curlers in differing sizes...I am sure she purchased them from a pharmacy...

If you ( and your boyfriend ) can put a curler ( horizontally ) either side of Aleandro's comb and bind them together with micropore ( the micropore tape will need to stick to his comb...a little front and back ) this should hold the curlers...and his comb in an upright position.

The advantage in using the sponge is that you can cut it to fit the width of the comb as required and there is very little weight to it.....

I have some very sad news tonight Today we took our boy for dubbing (his wound had dried up and practically healed, but the comb was VERY heavy, laying on one eye and he used to stand sad all day which seemed because of the heavy unbalanced weight).
Unfortunately, for God knows what reasons, the bleeding was just too heavy, particularly from the rear side of the comb. It wasn't even cut as a whole comb close to the head, there was some left. The doctors told me the bleeding would resume after a couple of minutes after they already burned and used other means to stop blood. Sadly, he even woke up after the anesthetic, and he was on a drip, but within two hours he passed away at the clinic.

We are so devastated tonight, and so is our doctor because it's his first attempt at dubbing a chicken and it went so wrong for reasons that are hard to explain.

I guess it's like taking your dog to spay/neuter for the better and end up with such an outcome. We wanted to do the best for him, not to have the comb infected again and not to lay on his eye all the time, and we lost him. (And I am sure beating myself up for it)

Please keep us (and him) in your prayers tonight, it's a very hard thing to comprehend and I can't stop thinking about it.

I am so sorry for your loss! It is devastating to loose a beloved pet, especially after trying so hard to help him. Just be comforted with the thought that you did all you could for him.

I have only just seen your post....I am so very, very sorry that Aleandro did not survive....it is always so hard when we lose one that we are trying so desperately to help...I cannot imagine your heartache.

You are such a wonderful spirit....and I know you will continue your wonderful dedicated work in rescuing and giving your animals the life they so richly deserve...
