I have seven 6 month old hens and one of them is laying very large double yolked eggs. These eggs are 2x bigger then everyone else. I have heard this can rupture the hen and then you have to kill her. Anyone know?

They often lay HUGE double and even tripled yolk eggs when they first start laying. Once she gets her 'plumbing' working right you'll start getting regular size single yolks eggs. I've never heard of it rupturing a hen. I'll tell you, when mine first starting laying, we had several days where I had WAY more double yolks than singles. Now that they are a little over a year old, I haven't gotten a double yolk in forever.........

Makes you feel bad for them laying those huge things, though, doesn't it?
