Very Mean Roo

Don't take his attacks to heart. Despite the fact you saved his life a few times, he still is a rooster whose brain is smaller than his testicles. Mean roosters need to be culled and never used for breeding. You can't change him, and always protect your children from attacks, no matter how small the rooster is.

Our rooster started acting that way at a year old. It got so bad that we made the decision to give him away to a local farm that doesn't kill and wanted him for breeding. He was biting me, my kids, and ripping apart my hens. He came close to taking out one of my hens eyes and I was afraid that would happen to one of my kids. Nothing hurts worse than getting attacked by an angry rooster with spurs! I've had roosters that were very gentle. I think if they feel that they need to be defensive for whatever reason they will be. Mine was a Sultan and He had limited visibility because of his crown of feathers. I would give him a pony tail to help him, clip them, trim his leg feathers, - he was a miserable ROO. Good Luck!
Good grief!! Why on earth would anyone want to use an aggressive rooster for breeding? So he can produce aggressive offspring? That rooster should have been made into soup instead of being made into a sire..

I don't think his offspring would necessarily would be aggressive. They needed a Sultan Rooster and knew his temperment. I didn't have the heart to kill him. I raised him from a hatchling.

His offspring won't necessarily be aggressive. It depends on what he transmits to his offspring. Temperament has a strong hereditary component.
