hi, 22 day in incubator, its my dads eggs,

my mum asked me to find out stuff

tonight I will do candling,

then water test

but my dad says gona throw them away tomorow anyway, and hes got new eggs waiting, so I dont know

I will check if egg looks like a chart I received on my other thread on day 19 , also with many cells? and if has blood ring its bad
also im not sure I will be able to see through, the eggs kinda looked tanned
then I will try the water test , if 10 percent is above water then its ok
but my dad says gona throw them away, so I dont know,
if any help, would be cool, I dont have a thermotor to check if water is 100 c, a youtuber said warmish water maybe pretend for new baby,
so I will see what happens, I wil wait til night to do candling and water test, if any help would be cool, and I will write what happens

hi oh ok, my dad says gona get rid of them tomorow, my only time is to do tonight

so I gues I wont do float test

he said will get rid of tomrow and try with new eggs

Candling would definitely be good.

The best course of action would of course be to wait and give them more time but it doesn't sound as if you have that option.

When were they set? I know a lot of people count day 0 as day one so perhaps the little ones aren't as late as your father thinks. It's not uncommon for chicks to hatch a couple days late if incubation temperatures were a bit low.

If your father is set on tossing them tomorrow and you were unable to determine if they were still alive by candling than at that time I'd make a small hole over the air cell like how you would start an assist. If you see movement through the hole or see notable blood vessels the little one is still alive and has a chance at hatching.

This is a good article on assisting if it comes to that. You can see how you would start an assist. It is always a good idea to start an eggtopsy just like an assist in case the chick inside is still alive.

Good luck!

Ah good glad your dad is willing to give them a couple more days, hopefully they make it out by then or at least it is obvious if they are still alive! :)

I wouldn't make any holes until you are about to toss them. It's usually not a good thing to do if a baby hasn't even internally pipped yet. Still worth doing as a last resort to make sure you aren't tossing live babies.

24 hours after an internal pip is typically when you'd make a small safety hole in an assist. Since your eggs have given no indication of internal pipping I wouldn't worry about any safety holes at this time.

You could still candle to check for signs of life or internal pips though. Just be careful to place them back in the position you found them in so the chick doesn't have to reposition itself to hatch.

If they are internally pipped and you don't know how long they have been then you can add a small safety hole at that point.

hi thanks, so for candle, um make note how they were posotiioned before taking them out, to put them exacntl how they were

listen closely for internal pip

sory for alot of questions, I searched what pip is, is it churping of the chick?

or is it when candle, u see the chicks head inside in the air cell pecking at the shell?

put back in incubator, and on last day, I put a small hole?

sory heaps question,

1. First candle one egg, what is going on? Do you see a beak penetrating the airsack? or tapping the shell. That is an internal pip. Are they obviously alive? Moving? If they are looking real good I would show your dad and he might give you some more time.
2. If you see an internal pip you can put a small hole in the airsack end.
3.You might have some sad feelings but what ever happens Learn from and go on. These aren't you eggs they are your Dad's and everybody hatching eggs have a bad hatch from time to time.

hi I trie to check the candel thing

the torch , coudlnt find it, so tried with a lamp, three diff lamps

but coudlnt see inside the egg,

also I took some pics, thres 7 eggs, one egg had things outside of it on outer shell ,

also the incubator looks like it leaks, I picked it up, but water seems like coming from under neath

here are pics

my mum said she heard churping, but I didnt hear anything

anwyays, I gues I should try tomorow with a torch, but what if I cant see anything, I coudlnt see inside
when put near lamp, just looked the same with light one
