I am new to ducks too - my dad impulsively got 2 Pekin ducklings at TSC a couple weeks back. I believe one male and one female. He had no clue but after some research on here I listened to their "voices" and easily came to the conclusion we had one of each lol. They are smelly/messy little things! I have had chickens and currently have 12 chicks and they are nowhere as messy as 2 ducklings. They are also pretty skittish but I spend as much time with them as I can and am excited for them to be big enough to move out from their breeder box to a coop area. I'm hoping they get more used to us once they are out around where we usually spend the most time.
I mostly posted because I also have Nigerian Dwarf goats. I have a wether names Shen and a doeling named Lily. They are 5 months old now. I love them to death! They are so much fun and soooooo adorable!!! They are around me all the time - like little furry gremlins. Beware - it is like having two 2-yr olds. They get into - and out of - EVERYTHING!!! I joke that they were made in satan's workshop Anyhow, they watch the ducklings and chicks during their outdoor time and really neither pays the other much attention. The ducklings definitely are less nervous of the goats than they are of me. So my guess is, since your ducks will be bigger when you get your little goatlings, they will learn to get along just fine
Best of luck! And keep us posted as to how things go!!
PS: This is Lily and Shen when I first got them. Back then I had put them on the table. Now they won't stop jumping up on it...
And this is them today
