Very odd situation with 1 week old chick...

She's the same this morning. Thank you @aart for the Q tip idea. She drank a good amount of the NutriDrench from the Q tip. Was not able to eat. There was a little bit still in her crop but not much. Cheryl will give her more to drink and try to get her to eat before she leaves. I had a 6:00 am meeting. Thanks again everyone. We are determined to see this baby well!!

Hang in there........chickens are fun, except when they're not....you'll get thru this.

Thanks for all your help and encouragement. Cheryl texted me that #7 as we affectionately call her did drink a good amount again from the soaked Q tip and ate some of the crumble moistened with NutriDrench at a second sitting this morning. Why #7??? We have 7 black chicks. We find ourselves counting them as they come out of the MHP and praying for #7 to come out so she's gonna be #7 from now on. She's a sleep under the MHP now. We are remaining hopeful. I so wish that we could be there during the day to give her more to drink and/or eat but there is just no way today. We'll be rushing home ASAP as soon as I can get out of work.

Awwww hope she gets better! I wish you could have a chick cam for when you and Cheryl are at work!!

I cannot imagine having chickens if I was still working and gone from home for 10 hours a day.
Thinks a cam would make it worse......what if you see something terrible and can't do anything about it?

Agree on all points. I started with a meeting for church at 6:00 this morning. Chamber of Commerce stuff for my work until 11:30 and then a management lunch meeting until 1:30. I could not imagine seeing something terrible and not being able to leave. Better off to not know and just find out when I get home.
