Thank you that was a pretty bad bumble. Good you were able to take care of it. I have had 2 chickens with bumble both just started so pretty easy to treat. I used warm Epsom salt soaks and colorless iodine to treat. didn't have to cut.

wonderful yes usually there is no need to cut, it just needs to be soaked , and do the antibacterial coating and draw it out , it may take more time but at least you get it all out, without cutting , so no pain or open wounds especially in ducks who are in water and can have a bigger possibility of mud/ water induced infection , you will get a great end result,when doing it the low key way.!Thank you that was a pretty bad bumble. Any time blood is involved vessels have to be blocked. Not small ones but yea arteries and such do. It's done with suture.How would you tie off any blood vessels seems you'd have to be experienced to do an amputation.
it was my chicken totally cured now , but no i dont have any medical training just use my instinct & wait for the answers that i need for the problem, been doing this all my life and its always worked fine & no one dies under my care..! i say if you cant tell what to do just reach out...!You sound like you have some medical training?
