I had quails hatch in incubator. all fine then one day, after about 1-2 weeks, the one couldn't really walk, scooted around on it's side - left side seemed very weak and if it fell over it could not right itself. Vet said neurological damage (he thought) and put it down.
Now I have various other chicks, bought as chicks, and 2 of my guinea fowl chicks are getting very ill, like the quail. they both shiver and shake although temp is normal under heat lamp and others are fine. One can't stand up for long - falls over and cannot right itself.
When I put it at water or food it tucks in. just turns around and around in circles on it's side. the other is slightly stronger but can't walk properly and falls over too. I have no idea what to do - please help if you can. I forgot to mention - when they stand up or try to walk,
the legs, especially L one just slide to the side a bit like doing the splits!

Since no one has put their "2 cents" in... It seems to me that this kind of question gets answered a lot as a vitamin deficiency. But don't quote me. However, until you have better info/advice from someone experienced, it wouldn't hurt to get some liquid baby vitamins - without iron - and start them on it. Do a search on here for the dosage.

So many variables that you haven't mentioned. Diet, medication with them, quail can be pretty tough......Sounds like you had a vet look at them, so I'd think he or she would be competent...all I know is they can be touchy at times......I probably didn't help much.....good luck...
