ISA Brown, 18 months old, no panting, eating and drinking at 6 o'clock then found her like this under the deck.
Gave her a warm bath and cleaned her vent area so I could see what's going on. The area is very swollen and had some crusty white build up that was difficult to remove. Treated with vertrycin poultry spray. She's had 2 watery, pale poops. Seems to be too painful to sit.

Poor, poor baby. Do you know what her laying status is? Is her vent puckering up like lip smacking? Do you know if she’s pooping?

Hard to know which direction to go. If she’s having trouble laying an egg, warmth and calcium might help. If she’s having trouble pooping, a molasses flush might be better.

Is she drinking? Is her abdomen swollen or just her vent?

She did not lay today. Her vent puckers when she passes the pale yellow, watery poop. Otherwise it does not pucker. Her back and abdomen feel swollen. She's propped herself up on the water dish and drinks when her beak dips into the water.

Looks like the hen passed 2 eggs during the night. She was back to normal and ready to go outside. I I got very lucky that she passed those eggs.
