Very sick Roo

he seem sto be resting he has been moving his wings and feet a little all a good sign but he pretty much just lays there... i took out some cheetos to him... they love cheetos he got excited over that but... i guess i will just wait and see... but it looks like I might need to start thining the herd od of roo's....

If you really want to keep them all, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try and keep them, but separate them into small groups. You say you have 9...so maybe 4 and 5 (or if you really want, you can take it further and keep them all in 3 groups of 3). You still run the risk of everything that came with the 'old' big flock (the one you have now) and the issues 2 or 3 new flocks would have, regarding the pecking order. Honestly, I myself would try everything in my power to keep them, if they were mine. But the choice is yours. It seems this topic isn't drawing so much attention. If Mr. Roo doesn't get back up on his feet within the next day or two, I suggest either renaming this thread or making a new one having to do with your rooster not being able to stand. Buff Orp boys are big fellas. And the condition of legs matters alot to chickens, as they cannot live without them. You have him isolated, yes?

Yes he is isolated I had him in a boz with food & water by himself, toward the end of the day I moved him to a tractor we use for new chicks (there are none in there right now) and he just kind of layed there, I did this becasue it was by the girls, thought that might give him some movtivation to live...lol... besides our girl flock has increased and if he surivies we will move him in With the girls, (his reward for survival)he seems to be doing better he is now walking slowly but walking & eating too! the tractor is right next to the girls pen and one of the girks is sitting right next to him, it is sooo sweet I think he is going to make it, I just dont know what to do about the rest... We have one Bob who is a blue andulsian whom I do not like, he attacks me & has alway, so giving him away or culling him wouldnt bother me but the others I like alot! But i am beginig to think that they are frustrated can roos get sexual frustrated?
