Very sick rooster, need help! He's been sick for over a week!

It's a pretty good chance that that is it. Usually if you see worms in the poo they have a severe case. You can treat naturally but if you want to clear them up then use, one of the above mentioned products. Jmo.

The will drain the life from a bird by absorbing all the nutrition.

I mentioned Fishzole because De Wet thought he may have a protozoan type infection and this is something you could possibly find on a Sunday. Metronidazole is an antibiotic and antiprotozoal medication. Used to treat Canker (Trichomoniasis). My thought was Canker may be one possibility why he isn't crowing. This is one website with more information and a list of symptoms http://www.pet-informed-veterinary-advice-online.com/trichomonas.html. Here is another one about poultry worms. http://msucares.com/poultry/diseases/disparas.htm.

As far as the controversy about spinach, some say eating large amounts can cause calcium deficiency. This may not be an issue for a rooster, but I only mentioned it because of him already being sick. My motto is everything in moderation...)

-What is the controversy with Spinach? I have never heard of that before!

-I will try getting something to deworm him. But my local feed store has nothing for chickens wormers, so where can I buy?

-what is flagyl/metronidazole? What does it do? And where would I find it in the pet store if labeled as FishZole?

-can I give him any kind of antibiotics? Or does this sound like it is not an infection?
you can get flagyl and the most chemist out there and it treat protoaze infections

protozoan infections can also get from worms like blackhead in turkeys you can deworm your bird but you will still sit with the infection that s why I mention to treat with metronidazole which help in this case against this infection but it is not also the medication sometimes the bird stop to eat and you have to feed it or it will die. In such cases I do not prevere to use any tylon products of sort It will make things worse and it will speed up the death in birds if the bird have such infection which I believe do have

He passed away this morning before I could start treatment on him :( I'm very upset, this bird was my baby.
